We have altered the paper in the light of the comments from the BMC statistical reviewer. As suggested, we have now made a more advanced data analysis using a mixed model framework for both residents and nursing staff. We have used the suggested covariates i.e. coefficients for time, reminiscence and interaction between time and reminiscence. The patient has been modelled as random effect, and the intervention both as random effect and as a covariate (although the latter did not improve the fit of the models and has thus not been reported in detail).
